I am writing this message because I am very upset with one of our manufacturers of eyewear in the tanning industry. All to often we talk about the indoor tanning lotions that are sold at retail stores such as Wal-Mart and Kmart. I was shopping the other day and I always look at the indoor tanning lotions that avaiable. I noticed that SUPER SUNNIES were attached to these lotions and were a FREE offer with the purchase of a $10.00 bottle of lotion. It really seems like the manufacturer/distributor is concerned about the indoor tanning lotion. Now the consumer can go to Wal-Mart, purchase a cheap bottle of indooor tanning lotion and get a pair of eyewear for free. This is ridiculous during a time that lotion manf. are pulling all their products from these type of stores and becoming exclusive tanning salon manf. What are they thinking and I feel we as tanning salon owners should send them a message. DONT BUY THE PRODUCT UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE. I would like to hear others opinion on this matter.

I was at my local Publix store and saw Hawaiian Tropic: Indoor tanning lotion with a pair of eyewear attached.

The eyewear had a stick on it "not for tanning bed use" on a bottle of products that was labeled as indoor tanning product.

Exactly, now how many people out on the beach do you see wearing indoor eyewear why they are lying in the sun. This is ridiculous. You know what? If I am not mistaken, Lucas products makes the eyewear and i just read that they chose not to increase their products as a result of what happened Sept. 11. Well, thanks for not increasing the price but no thanks for the loss in sales due to free eyewear on cheap bottles of lotion.

I mentioned before that I found these at Sally's Beauty Supply for well below salon cost. Lucas has yet to respond to anything.

I pay at least 2.75 not including shipping for supersunnies in crappy plastic bags, that are not even zip lock reusable storage bags. This does not include
the shipping costs.

The paper in side says Lucas Products Corporation, Toledo OH 43612 USA

So it seems to me that the thousands and thousands of supersunnies I have sold over the last 10-20 years I was overpaying for and inturn over charging my clients.
We have not supplied goggles as loaners for years due to theft, we sell all goggles.
We need to find out why the free goggles say not for tanning bed use, they protect you from the uv indoors and out or they dont.
Is it a way to say Lucas is not supplying the lotions maufactuier with legal goggles that will most likely end up being used in our solariums? This is a eye health risk to our clients.
Did the goggles have see through windows, or are they solid non see through?
