Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Merchant Service Accounts I have spoken with some beauty salons and spa owners in my area and many have gone ahead and cancelled their merchant service accounts and have decided to go forward only accepting cash and personal checks. Have any of you decided to go this route as well to save money? One of my friends owns a spa and said that the savings are in the thousands. Your thoughts? |

Most use some sort of card for payment these days. Having a retail establishment should accept cards as form of payment and it is more reliable than checks. It is not expensive as long as you build the cost into the pricing then the fees are just part of doing business. You pass it on. |

People avoid businesses that don't take credit cards so it could actually cost you much more than you think you're saving. I personally avoid businesses that don't take Amex as that is the card I primarily use.
