SunQuest Pro 16 S by Wolff Systems

Can anyone tell me about this bed? My daughter wants to buy this bed or trade for this bed. I'm curious what this bed in average condition would run as far as value is concerned. Any help is appreciated as I am new to this!

Re: SunQuest Pro 16 S by Wolff Systems

I just bought a new SunQuest 14SE from ETS just a week or so ago. This is somewhat comparable to the 16 lamp bed your talking about, at least I think so, correct me if I am wrong. I know I went against everyones advice on this board but I thought it would be nice to tan on a Sunday evening or early in the morning when local salons aren't open. I still do HP tans at my local salon, they are awesome. I work weird hours and no salons are open at 4am and sometimes thats when I wanna tan! lol. Long story short. I feel I got ripped off. No wait, I know I was ripped off. I mean I figured the guy at ETS would tell me the truth since I could google the info anyway. But I was dumb and didn't google it as we spoke. He told me I was getting about a $3000 bed for $1900 or something like that. "Free" shipping and $500 worth of AG lotion which I have yet to receive, yada yada. Anyway just google the bed name.. is the one your looking at new? If so, I have seen them around $2000 to $2300 but that does not include shipping and taxes. Tax was a real bummer my purchase ended up being $2110. If the bed is new.. I would personally pay around 2k for it then expect taxes and a good ship price. It has 16 bulbs in it so your daughter is gonna spend quite a bit of time to get a tan. Especially if she isn't salon tanning to supplement. I wouldn't buy it used unless you are getting a killer deal like really killer, maybe around what you would pay for a nice pair of jeans. Don't expect much tho, buy the jeans instead and save for a big bed or go to the salon. The warranty doesn't transfer and you will be replacing parts right and left...not just bulbs...I realized I bent the locking clasps on the gas springs on my bed while putting it together so I can look forward to replacing those earlier than expected. I google my bed now and find it cheaper and kick myself, but all in all its okay, fun, I get some color and my friends are jealous. I had to wire in special receptacles which took about 10 minutes and cost 5 bucks and it blows the fuse if I tan longer than 10 minutes in it so I am constantly flipping the breaker...I am getting an electrician friend to take a look today. Looking forward to the power bill this month as well. That will be the kicker! Good luck whatever you decide.

ETS is has an excellent warranty on their equipment. The 16 bulb bed comes with a 18 month warranty. If I was buying a bed for my home I would go with their equipment line because I would know that I had a strong manufacturers warranty and that I was buying from a company that will be there when I do finally need replacement parts.
I would encourage for the little bit of money it takes to upgrade to go ahead and buy a 24 lamp bed. The 16 is good but the 24 packs a better punch. The 24 also takes your standard dryer plug so not much serious electrical work issues.
Another tip, often tanning distributors offer the same beds but used. So you might be able to find a good solid used 24 bulb bed for the same price or less as a brand new 16 bulb bed. Good luck~!

if your daughter is used to tanning at a salon, a 16 lamp bed will not keep her happy. I agree with peppermint...i just sold a used 32 lamp bed forless than $1000. That's the way to go!! I'm sure someone here has something!!

I'd pass! I had a 16 bulb for my first tanning bed, 10 years ago! I wouldn't be happy with it at all. She'd have to tan alot to get what she is used to from the salon results.

I'd buy a used bed with more bulbs for the same price.
